Harwood Hall Chardonnay 2020, Hawkes Bay
Single vineyard, unique style
Grown on a single vineyard in the Hawkes Bay, the fruit for this wine was picked in outstanding condition after an excellent growing season. The grapes were gently pressed to new French oak (20%) and a portion (50%) was allowed malolactic fermentation. The wine was then matured on lees for 10 months before being bottled.
Apricot peach and melon supported by a subtle layer of lemon with vanilla and toasted oak aromas. This chardonnay is a medium to full-bodied wine with a creamy texture and a dry finish.
4.5 Stars - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Delightfully fruited and elegantly expressed, the wine shows white flesh stone fruit, fig, lemon peel and nougat characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness, beautifully supported by creamy mouthfeel and fine texture. Harmonious and immediately appealing."
