Generous, easy-drinking Gris from award-winning brand
Cape Campbell Marlborough Pinot Gris 2020
Pear, apple, just-dry, flavourful
The uniquely-striped Cape Campbell lighthouse stands sentinel at the southern entrance to New Zealand’s Cook Strait. At the same latitude is Cape Campbell’s original vineyard – also unique because it was the first in the Blind River sub-region of Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. This trailblazing spirit creates wines that are full of character and distinctly Marlborough.
This celebration of classic cool-climate purity is packed with red apple, pear drop and creaming soda characters. The palate has wonderful slipperiness with an acid line that drives length and carries the flavour. It is crafted in a dryer style to highlight the fruit concentration. Enjoy on release and over the next few years.
"Pristine and nicely lifted, showing grapefruit, Gala apple, fresh pear and white floral aromas on the nose, followed by an elegantly weighted palate delivering succulent fruit flavours and smooth texture with a lovely refreshing finish" - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
