As big and bold as its namesake - a wine worth savouring
Mcleans Farm Barossa Shiraz 2018
Spicy blackberry, plum, soft, smooth
McLean's Farm is a name synonymous with the Barossa and this Shiraz is a top quality example of what the region can achieve. It has a full bodied palate of ripe spicy blackberry and plum fruit flavours with a lovely soft, smooth finish.
Bob McLean was a firm believer in the compatibility of Shiraz and the Barossa Valley, also in its ability to produce a variety of styles. He personally could not understand why it was not a focus of more major producers! Shiraz is the most successful grape variety for this leading region, with this being the birthplace of the famous Penfolds Grange. The style is full blooded - dark in colour, rich in dark red fruits with a touch of chocolate and a hint of raisin character. The structure is round and velvety, and the wines are invariably long lived.
