Squeaky Gate Gisborne Pinot Gris 2008

This new "Pinot Gris from Gisborne" has been added to the Squeaky Gate Pinot Gris portfolio as the juice offered to us from this internationally recognised Gisborne supplier was of exceptional quality & at a price we could not let go by, passing directly onto fellow tightwads cutting out the middleman, our specialty.

This Pinot Gris displays lifted notes of pear, ginger & sweet spice on the nose. The soft palate shows flavours of pear drop & musk with citrus acidity on the finish.

When we are offered small parcels of wine we often consult with Peter Saunders, long time wine critic, and author of 25 editions of A guide to New Zealand wine. His thoughts are: A dry, gutsy style that has openned up very well through a year and now shows plenty of charm; positive and strong fruit characters and just waiting for hearty food from spicy nibbles to roast chicken to complete its offering.
