The typical flavours of Hawkes Bay Chardonnay melded with the spice, texture and fruit flavours of the Viognier.

From the Chardonnay: grapefruit, melon and fig, from the Viognier: apricot, jasmine and spice on the nose. Rich texture and fullness to the crispness of the Chardonnay flavours on the palate. Soft and with great balance and finesse.

When we are offered small parcels of wine we often consult with Peter Saunders, long time wine critic, and author of 25 editions of A guide to New Zealand wine. His thoughts are "Very nice, smooth, mature style without much oak and quite gutsy in its flavours. Tasty wine with a lot to offer a roast chicken or food from the sea. Little direct oak impact (some there) and the fruit doing the talking very well. Drink into 2013."
